Whatever you pick will be exactly perfect for your family and your daughter! I'm not sure if children name themselves, or grow into their names. Either way, they always fit just right, especially when so much thought and love have gone into the choosing! Congratulations.

(My brother and his wife, in the same situation, talk about their adoption process here.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162959888217396042006-11-07T20:24:00.000-08:002006-11-07T20:24:00.000-08:00I haven't voted yet but immediately Maggie caught ...I haven't voted yet but immediately Maggie caught my eye, mainly because that's the name I would love to give a future daughter.(And like another commenter, I'd use Maggie on the birth certificate).

A lot of people suggested Emma which is a gorgeous name and was actually my "girl name" for years and years. Over the past few years when it became really popular did I realize I liked Maggie more.

Another girl name I adore is Sophia/Sofia/Sophie. Probably because I associate it with my little Swedish sister I lived with for a year and she was a ball of sunshine.

Elizabeth is a beautiful name, but I think it works best as a middle name.

Thanks for pointing me to the voting :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162613014178511752006-11-03T20:03:00.000-08:002006-11-03T20:03:00.000-08:00I love the name Elizabeth because of Elizabeth Ben...I love the name Elizabeth because of Elizabeth Bennet in my favorite novel, Pride and Prejudice. We have a lot of Elizabeths in my family and a Rebekah, so those were other names I could have picked. You might also think she's going to Emma and then meet her and realize she is totally a Jane or a Drew or something else. We thought we were going to use a nickname for our oldest daughter, instead of her given name, but it just never worked. She's a Charlotte. And I had to laugh to see that my other daughter and your dog share a name, too. Guess I can't recommend that one for your new daughter. I hope the adoption goes smoothly for you.Gwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12526629366170486737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162589544583084672006-11-03T13:32:00.000-08:002006-11-03T13:32:00.000-08:00I voted!I voted!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162589167428888382006-11-03T13:26:00.000-08:002006-11-03T13:26:00.000-08:00All of your choices are lovely, but Grace and Anne...All of your choices are lovely, but Grace and Anne are my two favorite names ever . . .
:-)A random visitorAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162574597342395112006-11-03T09:23:00.000-08:002006-11-03T09:23:00.000-08:00I voted for Rachel. Sarah and Rachel were common but not popular names when they were born and Abigail was just getting to be popular (but I named her after Abigail Adams, so I ignored the trendy thing). For the little girl we adopted, we went with an extremely uncommon Biblical name (Keziah), partly because all the rest of them were so common.

Anyway, I guess I'll go vote now...I just thought it was funny that so many of your names were ones we used.

I'm also Immax3 at Xanga, so if you see my "footprint" over there, you'll know who I am.Lori's Light Extemporaneahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12755604404233681748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29418238.post-1162564012086470322006-11-03T06:26:00.000-08:002006-11-03T06:26:00.000-08:00What a creative Thursday Thirteen!
