your input needed

I am reading in the blog world and my yahoo groups that the Today show made a comment somwhere that adoptive moms are considered non-moms and actually put them in a special category. A lot of people are very upset about this and I was wondering if anyone has a site or link to this.

It's actually a 'contest' that's being run by NBC for Mother's Day and there is a special category is "non-mom moms" for adoptive moms.

I already wrote a piece about this on my blog. Blah.

I also posted about this blatant discrimination and their "Fix" which now removes the obvious insult only to replace it with a subtle one. I cannot figure why Adoptive Moms and Step Mothers are separated into either Non-Moms or the newly titled Adoptive Moms.

According to them, I am Sheridan's Non-Father

I didn't hear about the contest from the Today Show until I read your post and after researching it...it totally breaks my heart that...this is how we are viewed (adopted parents, step parent...and so on). I am speechless. Am I upset, yes but I am also so hurt....that this is how 'some' in society view me. So sad...

I blogged about this too. I'm just saddened that the world feels the need to continually refer to how a family was formed.

I don't want to be thought of as more than a mom or less than a mom. I'm just a mom.
