Oh, my! You have so many more books to buy because I'm about to give you a MUST HAVE list! Okay, I just went to the bookshelf and made a huge stack....

Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney - classic

Good Dog, Carl by Alexandra Day - classic

Little Bear by Else Holmelund Minarick - classic

Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne - get the original when she's older, it's classic

We're Going On a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen - another classic

Goodnight, Moon by Margret Wise Brown - yet another classic

Pajama Time by Sandra Boynton - hilarious!

Board book from the I Spy Little...series by Jean Marzollo - kids love to find the hidden pictures

Anything by P.D. Eastman, but espcially Are You My Mother? and Go Dog, Go (but you have to sing the Star Wars cantina song when you look at the dog party, lol)

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff - cute

Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin - SOOO funny!

Of course you must have some Dr. Seuss and Theo. LeSeig (Dr. Seuss in disguise), but at least get Ten Apples Up On Top, Dr. Seuss' ABCs, The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle - be sure to use your grouchy voice!

Any Curious George book since the plot is pretty much the same (H.A. Rey)

Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb by Al Perkins - catchy!

You have to get some Richard Scarry - might I suggest Chipmunk's ABC, What Do People Do All Day?, and The Adventures of Lowly Worm

Two by Mo Willems because you will pee yourself when you read them - Knuffle Bunny and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Buss!

If you want some spiritual matter, try R.C. Sproul's The Lightlings. Beautiful illustrations, clear picture of the gospel.

THERE! Start shopping - or yard sale-ing (that's where I got about 75% of my kids' books). Sorry to get carried away, but I'm a former Children's Librarian, ya know.

Oh, and since I started typing, Owen has been in the floor beside me and has read through Ten Apples Up On Top, Go Dog Go, Good Dog Carl, and Bear Hunt. And he hasn't moved!

If I had to pick just one, I would say that LynnMaries has to have Goodnight, Moon. Of course there is always Brown Bear, Brown Bear too. I still have those two memorized and my boys are 11 and 8! I can't wait to see what you choose!

Gigi, God's Little Princess by Shelia Walsh. (I love this book, a beautiful message. There is actually a series of different books, DVD's and a beautiful white Devotional Bible for little ones. I bought Isabella the DVD, book, and Bible, along with a little Gigi rag doll... can be found at Christian stores)
