It is 4:30pm here in Beijing, which means it is 4:30am back home in Atlanta. The flight was long but did not seem like it was too bad. We did have the benefit of an empty seat between us on the long flight. The first leg, from Atlanta to Newark was delayed 45 minutes because we were struck by a belt loader while boarding. Really, the whole freaking cabin rocked side to side and they took a lot of time to call people to come look for damage. There was an option to put us on a 7:40 flight if our 6:30 one could not go, but we got off the ground at 7:15 in a plane too small to reach the gate ramps in Newark! It was some form of Brazillian plane. Why are American companies that beg for federal funds to keep them afloat buying planes from Brazil?
Neither of us slept much on either flight so we are going to grab some dinner and head to bed early. Tours of Tianimen Square and the Forbidden City are tomorrow!
