China

This week on the Travel Channel, has been China Week. We were able to record most of the shows ( they have repeated many of the shows). I hope we are able to visit some of the country before we meet Miss LynnMarie one day. We just a glimpse of this amazing place that contains so much history. I had no idea how long the Great Wall was or that are restaurants that serve just dumplings. I totally recommend you watch any and all of these shows. Family, hope you get the chance to see where you niece, granddaughter is from. Its just beautiful.

We did learn that for 150.00 you can feed a panda and for another hundred or 2 they will bring out a chubby panda for you to hold. If that is possible, I am so up for that. We will have another laundry container set up for the "Amy wants to hug a Panda fund at our house if you ever visit. Just kidding.

Check out the Wild China series. We still have so many shows to watch but I want to learn more.

For family and friends, we have no news for you. But it blows me away that we are going to China to meet our daughter one day. How exciting!!!!!!!!

Hi Amy...we too have been watching the shows all this week and I so too loved it when Samantha Brown got to feed, hold, and interact with the Pandas...(we here at the Leonard householf are crazy for Sam...she is a doll!) and since we are headed there sometime in the next few months...we are getting very exciting! On our last adoption journey to China, we experienced a lot but not as much as I would have liked to (Francesca got sick and so did I), so I am hoping this time to do a lot more. My advise to you is...watch as many shows about China as you can...eat as much Chinese food as you want...read about China every chance you get...because you'll still be so unprepared for what you will experience in China....

I didn't watch the series, so I don't know where she was, but when I went to the Chengdu Giant Panda Research and Breeding Facility in 2006, it only cost $55 USD to go into the yard with the pandas, pet them, and get photos taken with them. On the downside, we were not allowed to touch or hold the babies although we were allowed to watch them being fed and weighed and such.

It was great visiting china, although once you get your little once there is not much time to enjoy all the sights!

Samantha Brown can smack me in the head with a 2 x 4 and I'd be a happy man!

I so wish I had cable! How fun would that be to hold a squishy panda - what a dream! Here's to another fundraiser just for that!
